Clark, who is in the middle of her second season with the Indiana Fever, won the WNBA Player of the Year award at the ESPYs, another accomplishment commemorating her stellar rookie campaign.

The ESPYs named Caitlin Clark the WNBA Player of the Year on Wednesday inside the packed Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Since Caitlin Clark showed up in the WNBA a year ago, several narratives came with her. As Clark brought an influx of interest and attention, many people who hadn’t previously paid much attention to the league suddenly positioned themselves as experts.
Throughout the first half of the season heading into Tuesday night's game against the Connecticut Sun, Clark had played in 12 games. She has averaged 16.7 points, nine assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game, while shooting 37.4 percent from the floor and 28.9 percent from the three-point line.
Fever coach Stephanie White expressed no reason to press the panic button for Clark, who averages 16.7 points per game and has not scored more than 14 points in the three games since her injury return.
