WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Investigators are currently in south Wichita, where five people have died. According to the Wichita Police Department, just before 6 p.m., they received a call about a death in the 1700 block of Santa Fe. When officers arrived, they found a man dead of apparent gunshot wounds inside a home.

Four people died after a shooting Sunday in south Wichita, a Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor said. Shortly before 8 p.m., Wichita police posted on X that they were investigating a shooting inside a home.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Five people are dead after an incident in south Wichita Sunday evening. Sedgwick County officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting at 5:44 p.m. in the 1700 block of Santa Fe. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The investigation is still ongoing (and) everything we are giving you is preliminary … we do believe all the victims in this were known to each other, either as family or friends,” Wichita police spokesperson Andrew Ford said.

Emergency crews are currently in south Wichita, where four people have died. It happened around 7 p.m. at a residence in the 1900 block of S. Laura St. and the 1700 block of Santa Fe St. Sedgwick County Dispatch confirmed to KSN that four people are dead and that there is a large police presence in the area.
