Vance Luther Boelter was identified as the prime person of interest in the 'politically motivated assassination' and assassination attempt of Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses. He is said to be an avid Trump supporter despite being a former Tim Walz appointee.

Tim Walz announced at a press conference that Hortman and her husband had died after being shot. Walz said they're "cautiously optimistic" about Hoffman and his wife's recovery. The Associated Press identified Vance Luther Boelter, 57, as the suspect.
