The chair and vice-chair of the Shreveport City Council will, for the first time, be held by two women. Councilwomen Tabatha Taylor and Ursula Bowman were elected as chair and vice-chair of the Shreveport City Council at Tuesday's meeting, replacing Councilmen Alan Jackson and James Green, respectively.

A Shreveport man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly threatening to shoot a Shreveport City Council member at her home, according to Shreveport police.
