Tim Keiderling and Esther Keiderling, both of Ulster Park, New York, set out to hike the summit on Sunday, officials said.

Both Tim and Esther Keiderling, who went missing Sunday while hiking Mount Katahdin in Maine, have been found dead. Harsh weather and rugged terrain hampered search efforts.

Tim and Esther Keiderling were found dead this week after attempting to scale Mount Katahdin in Maine over the weekend, after a massive search party recovered their bodies.
