Pakistan on Thursday suffered the humiliation of having its latest terror avatar, The Resistance Front (TRF), responsible for the Pahalgam massacre that killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, being designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the US State Department.

The U.S. government has designated The Resistance Front, also known as the Kashmir Resistance, as a "foreign terrorist organisation" following an April 22 Islamist militant attack in Indian Kashmir that killed 26 people.

In a major development, the US State Department has designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO) and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) group. The announcement follows the group's claim of responsibility for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.
