Some of Spike Lee’s most deeply felt passions — filmmaking and the New York Knicks — have collided at the Cannes Film Festival.

The star made a quick trip to the festival for the premiere of the director’s “Highest 2 Lowest.” A surprise was waiting.

Lee was joined in the Cannes press conference by Wright and Ilfenesh Hadera, who plays King’s poised and skeptical wife Pam. Highest 2 Lowest marks Lee’s first collaboration with one-time muse Washington since 2006’s Inside Man.
