Xander Schauffele figured he needed a “blackout” performance Sunday at The Open to have any chance of catching Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler is paired up with Matt Fitzpatrick, who held a share of the lead after Thursday and then backed that up with a 5-under 66 on Friday. He's starting just a shot back from Scheffler. Brian Harman and Haotong Li are tied at 8-under to start the day, too.
