Several injuries have been reported and dozens of people have been displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in San Rafael early Thursday morning.

The fire displaced 50 residents of an apartment complex on the 500 block of Canal Street, San Rafael city officials said on Facebook. Of those displaced, there have been eight injuries reported, officials said. Approximately 19 units were affected. It was not immediately known what caused the fire.
