Two Democrats have filed bills that would legalize recreational marijuana in Tennessee, a move one of the bill's sponsors said could add millions to the state's general fund. House Bill 836 by Rep. Larry Miller,

Sen. Jeff Yarbro (D-Nashville) introduced SB 0809, which is the Tennessee Cannabis Act. The act is an amendment to allow for personal or recreational marijuana use while creating rules for dispensaries to produce,

Both bills allow all Tennessee adults over 21 to possess, use, and transport small amounts of cannabis for personal use. Both would allow cannabis retailers to sell all THC products. They would also allow Tennesseans to grow up to 12 cannabis plants for personal use.

The bill would allow people over the age of 21 to have up to 60 grams of marijuana flower with a maximum of 15 grams as a concentrate.
