PITTSBURGH (AP) — Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin share a competitive stubbornness. An inherent arrogance, too. While that hardly makes them outliers in the alpha-driven NFL, their ability to keep the realities of the game they have helped define at bay for so long does.

The Pittsburgh Steelers undoubtedly know that they're taking a big gamble by agreeing to sign Aaron Rodgers in what could very likely be the last NFL season of his career. The 41-year-old is reportedly set to join the Steelers on a one-year deal and will meet the team next Tuesday for the start of minicamp.

Aaron Rodgers entered the NFL in 2005. Head coach Mike Tomlin joined the NFL coaching ranks in 2001, but took over as the head coach of the Steelers in 2007. The duo had similar paths in that they carved out a legacy with one franchise and put up respectable numbers.
