Golden State could consider trading Jonathan Kuminga for DeMar DeRozan, signaling urgency in final phase of Stephen Curry’s era.

Over the past few weeks, nothing has had a stranglehold on the NBA news cycle quite like the Jonathan Kuminga saga. While there have been other restricted free agents looking to secure their future, Kuminga is the only one who has ever seemed unlikely to return to his team.

Per the San Francisco Standard's Tim Kawakami, the Golden State Warriors don't plan to trade Kuminga this summer and he'll be on the team's roster to star the season. Kawakami noted that Kuminga's pathways back to the Warriors are to accept the team's offer or to take the $7.9 million qualifying offer that Golden State extended to him.
