Just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, several onlookers in Brooklyn were enjoying one of New York City’s sunnier days, when they witnessed a Mexican Navy training ship hit the bottom of the Brooklyn Bridge,

A Mexican Navy sailing ship festooned with lights and a giant flag crashed into the landmark Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday night, shearing the top of its masts, killing two people and injuring several others,

There were 277 people on board when the ship drifted directly into the underside of the bridge on Saturday night, the authorities said. At least 22 were injured, half of them critically.
