Former NBA star Carmelo Anthony has been notified that he's been elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025, per ESPN's Shams Charania.

Anthony, a six-time All-NBA selection and 2003 All-Rookie Team selection, is elected to the Hall of Fame after a career that included 19 NBA seasons in which he averaged 22.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game over 1,260 appearances (1,120 starts).

Anthony, the 10th leading scorer in NBA history, is a big fan of Gilgeous-Alexander, who leads the league in total points and points per game this season. A Hall of Famer, Anthony said Gilgeous-Alexander reminds him of Dwyane Wade, who is in the Hall of Fame as well and considered one of the top shooting guards of all time.

Carmelo Anthony will be adding first-ballot Hall of Famer to his list of accolades. Anthony has reportedly been notified that he's been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025, per ESPN's Shams Charania.

But Carmelo was a regal NBA presence and did his best to get that Westbrook/George team on a contention path. To have Carmelo in OKC for a season was another blessing for fans and media on this remarkable NBA journey that has sprinkled gold dust on the state for going on 20 years.

Anthony's best game in the 2003 NCAA tournament was in the Final Four against Texas, when he scored 33 points on an efficient 12-of-19 shooting with 14 rebounds and three steals. It was part of a three-game stretch in which Anthony posted consecutive double-doubles in the Elite Eight, Final Four and national championship game.
