This week, J.J. McCarthy revealed the Minnesota Vikings haven't told him that he'll be the team's starter in 2025. But the meniscus injury that sidelined him for all of 2024 won't prevent him from competing for the job.

It sure does look like J.J. McCarthy will be starting for the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1, but he said the team hasn't told him as such.

Unless the Minnesota Vikings have a change of heart over the next few weeks to months, the expectation is for J.J. McCarthy to have a chance to win the job during training camp. All bets are off if the Vikings found somebody they like more, but the front office has said all the right things regarding McCarthy and his future with the organization.
