Blame him for plenty, but Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said he's not directly responsible for a recent high-profile draft pick. While his influence is undeniable, Haslam said Tuesday that he didn't force general manager Andrew Berry to take rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders in April.

Despite a narrative to the contrary, Haslam said that choosing Sanders in the fifth round was GM Andrew Berry's decision

"At the end of the day, that's [general manager] Andrew Berry's call. Andrew made the call to pick Shedeur. Just like who's gonna start or what play we're gonna call is [head coach] Kevin [Stefanski]'s call. But that's Andrew's call. He made the call."
