This week saw Apple introduce the newest member of the iPhone 16 family, the iPhone 16e, as a new low-cost option to replace the iPhone SE.

Apple new iPhone 16E with Apple Intelligence and Apple's first in-house 5G modem is now available to preorder.

A new iOS beta version is coming to town, bringing some nifty upgrades with it like Priority Notifications and Apple News Plus Food.

That said, AI tools on Google's Pixel devices are much more refined than what Apple offers at this point, and the Pixel 9a figures to reap the benefits. With Google all but certain to turn to the Tensor G4 chipset that powers the Pixel 9, we'd expect the 9a to gain many of the capabilities that arrived on Google's flagships last year.

The newest entry-level iPhone 16e adopts a 48MP Fusion camera, which sounds like a dependable, but somewhat limited setup that lacks the broader versatility a dual-camera normally brings around. At the same time, we get a 12MP FaceTime camera.
