A Republican senator hopes to "make Minnesota Iowa again" after introducing a bill that would allow Iowa to buy nine southern Minnesota counties.

President-elect Trump wants to annex Canada, Panama and Greenland, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has suggested taking Alaska and Minnesota in response, and now an Iowa senator has proposed the purchase of nine counties from southern Minnesota.

Sen. Mike Bousselot, R-Ankeny, said he will introduce a bill in the Iowa General Assembly to purchase the bottom nine counties of Minnesota and make them part of Iowa.
