India and Pakistan agreed to an immediate ceasefire on Saturday, unexpectedly halting the worst fighting in decades between the nuclear-armed neighbors, just when their tit-for-tat strikes appeared to be spiraling out of control.

According to Pakistan foreign minister, the discussion focused on the evolving regional situation following India-Pakistan's military tensions.

Indian exporters said that several Chinese exporters have approached Indian suppliers for help in fulfilling US orders, as they seek to retain their American clients.

China is at the epicentre of U.S. President Donald Trump's global trade war that has roiled financial markets, upended supply chains and fuelled risks of a sharp worldwide economic downturn. Washington wants to reduce its trade deficit with Beijing and convince China to renounce what the U.

The meeting is the strongest sign yet that the world's two biggest economies are ready to de-escalate their trade war.
