Millions in the U.S. are in the path of a major winter storm bringing snow and ice and creating dangerous conditions from the Central Plains to the East Coast.

The NWS is warning SoCal residents to be prepared as a life-threatening, destructive, widespread windstorm is expected to sweep through much of Los Angeles and Ventura counties Tuesday through Wednesday.

Friday and Saturday will be labeled Impact Days because there will be a threat of some wintry mix over Central Alabama, while snow is more likely to the north. Impact Days mean that you should remain aware and the weather may be disruptive enough to cause changes to your normal daily routine.
