Hot and humid weather will scorch Central Florida for several days and the National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a heat advisory for the region beginning Saturday.

At 12:01 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory valid for Sunday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Pickens,

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory at 2:23 p.m. on Saturday valid from Monday 11 a.m. until Tuesday 8 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.

Tonight: Isolated to scattered storms move through from northwest to southeast into the evening with a few downpours, lightning and isolated strong winds. Not everyone will see rain. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are coming through Indianapolis, amid a heat advisory. Scatter showers will pour throughout central Indiana with rain rates of 1-2 inches per hour in the strongest storms.
