The Hamilton County Coroner, Lakshmi Sammarco, released preliminary information on the death of 18-year-old Ryan Hinton, shot to death on May 1 by a Cincinnati police officer.

Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco was set to present her office's findings at a 9 a.m. press conference on May 16.

A Hamilton County prosecutor's office spokesperson would not confirm if a grand jury investigation is underway.

Police released body camera footage of the incident, stating that Hinton had a gun in his hand when he was shot and that the officer felt Hinton posed a threat.
