In light of the catastrophic LA wildfires, the Recording Academy has announced that this year's Grammys will take on a significant new role.

A note from the Recording Academy revealed that this year’s awards show will raise additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts, honor the first responders battling the fires, and help those in need.

The 67th Grammy Awards are still taking place on Sunday, February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles despite wildfires in the city.

The show will be broadcast live on Feb. 2 from the Crypto.com Arena, where Beyoncé is the leading contender with 10 nominations.

The Recording Academy canceled all Grammy-related events just hours after announcing that the 67th edition of the awards ceremony would push through despite the California wildfires. Resources for events like the Artist Showcase and the After-Grammy Party will instead be redirected “to assist those affected by the wildfires,
