Disney's Hulu + Live TV and sports streaming service Fubo are combining in a deal that will also see the settlement of a lawsuit against the creation of Venu Sports. Fubo and Hulu + Live TV both allow customers to stream live broadcast and cable networks on their connected TVs,

FuboTV settled all pending litigation with Disney, FOX, and Warner Bros. Discovery, and will receive a $220 million cash payment from the companies.

Disney will merge its Hulu + Live TV virtual MVPD with competitor Fubo, expanding its sports-focused distribution while settling a suit over skinny bundle Venu.

Walt Disney is joining its Hulu+ Live TV service with streaming provider Fubo, the companies announced Monday. The new venture, which will be operated under the publicly traded Fubo company name, will be 70% owned by Disney and the remainder by Fubo shareholders, according to a joint statement.

The agreement ends litigation between the two companies over plans for a sports streaming service, but consumer advocates are pushing back.

The combination of Hulu + Live TV and Fubo brings together 6.2 million streaming subscribers in North America, with roughly $6 billion in sales. Its biggest rival, Google’s YouTube, had more than 8 million subscribers last year when it last publicized those numbers.

Fubo TV’s next earnings release is set for February 26. Wall Street analysts expect the company to lose $0.18 per share this quarter, down from losses of $0.08 per shares last quarter.

Fubo will be combined with Hulu's live TV service and offer a new streaming package with ABC and ESPN channels.
