The league announced that umpire Jen Pawol will be working the three-game series, making her the first woman in MLB history to umpire regular-season games. She will be working the bases during Saturday's doubleheader before taking the position of home-plate umpire in Sunday's series finale.

Pawol, 48, began her affiliated-baseball umpiring career in 2016 at the rookie-ball level. She reached the Triple-A level in 2023, and then in 2024 she became the first female ump to work a spring-training game since Ria Cortesio in 2007.

Pawol will work the bases during the August 9 Marlins-Braves doubleheader and she will be behind the plate for the series finale on August 10.
