Chicago Cubs have the best record in MLB after Shota Imanaga’s gem and 5 solo home runs fuel 6-0 win
Shota Imanaga tossed seven shutout innings and five players hit solo home runs Saturday, carrying the Chicago Cubs to a 6-0 win over the Boston Red Sox.
The Cubs took the series opener at home 4-1 behind five innings of work from starting pitcher Colin Rea, in which he only gave up one run and struck out five. Nico Hoerner and Seiya Suzuki both homered as Chicago picked up the win despite having fewer hits in the ballgame.
It proved to be the latter for the Boston Red Sox on Friday. Riding a 10-game winning streak entering the break, the Red Sox fell flat in Chicago, and the second half began with a 4-1 loss to the Cubs.
