Friends of Big Bear Valley announced the news on Facebook on Monday with a clip from the live camera feed at the nest perched on a tree in Southern California's San Bernardino County. The nonprofit has been monitoring the eaglets, named Sunny and Gizmo, since they hatched in early March.

One of the Big Bear eaglets, Sunny, flew the nest for the first time, thrilling fans of the live webcam that monitors the family of eagles that includes mom Jackie, dad Shadow and sibling Gizmo.

Young eaglet Sunny successfully took her first flight from the nest Monday morning. Now all eyes are on Gizmo to see when she'll officially say goodbye to the nest.
