The devastating fires in California are still ravaging the Los Angeles County hillside and leaving hundreds of thousands without homes, clothes and cherished items that will never be recovered.

As fire crews continue their efforts to battle the California wildfires, officials with the Northeast Florida chapter of the American Red Cross say the disaster is shining a light on the ongoing need for volunteers.
