The yearslong quest by Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez to acquire control of the Minnesota Timberwolves seems to finally be in the home stretch, after current owner Glen Taylor opted not to appeal an arbitration panel’s ruling that he must go forward with the $1.

The arbitration ruling stated that Rodriguez and Lore, who agreed to buy the team for $1.5 billion in 2021, did not violate terms of the purchase agreement, which Taylor alleged. The Timberwolves/Lynx have been valued at just above $3 billion by Forbes and Sportico.

Taylor has agreed to sell 100% of the Minnesota Timberwolves to Mark Lore and Alex Rodriguez for the $1.5 billion franchise valuation agreed to in 2021, a story broken by Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst of ESPN and confirmed by multiple other reporters since.
