The crowd depends more on the day of the week & time you go. It will still be busy after Christmas, especially on Friday & Saturday nights. The best bet is to get there early (around 5) or later (around 8:30) and go during the week, if possible. There is a walking portion you can do that is near the beginning but the rest is in your car.
