A beautiful place to visit and hike. A definite photo op of plants and scenery. Good shoes for hiking are a must. We didn't have any issues with mosquitoes. Full review by Lee K

We did a West coast Greenland cruise with Hurtigruten, and this was one of our top 3 experiences in Greenland. The boardwalk is well done, and the setting is beautiful with contrasting white iceber… Full review by product-of-canada
I am trying to find out how to book a trip on the evening boat trip on Ililissat Icefjord, but it doesn’t seem to be listed on any websites. We are travelling to Ilulissat on 6/6/19 for two days and wanted to do this trip.

We visited Ilulissat in June. We took four excursions through World of Greenland and we were pleased with all of them. We did a walking tour of the town, a hike out to the UNESCO site/icefjord, a midnight cruise through the icebergs, and a whale watching cruise. All were well organized and managed and consisted of small groups. Our hotel (Hotel Arctic), which I would also recommend, provided hourly shuttle service to the center of town, which is the "gathering place" for the World of Greenland tours. I really don't know anything about the other tour companies, but we were very pleased with World of Greenland. We loved our time in Ilulissat and hope that you do, too!
Hi I am visiting in July only here for morning as I am on a cruise. I have booked a 2 hour boat trip. I walk with a mobilator (walker) do you think that I will manage the boardwalk. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

I think it will be difficult to climb the ladder onto the boat.
Hi my husband and I are wanting to go this place in august from Copenhagen. Just wondering if it's better to go on an organised trip with a tour company or book our own trip and accomodation and tours ourselves. Not sure how available things are there and easy to do My husband is danish so language won't be a problem. Thanks Kelly

I booked flights, accommodation and day trips by myself. It is easy to arrange. The time I went last year, only AirGreenland operated from Copenhagen to Greenland. There were 3 tour companies in Iluslissat and a few accommodations/hotels to choose. The town is small but has everything you need. There are Germans, Dans, Thais, Philippines settled there. Most young locals speak English. If you decide to arrange the whole trip by yourself, I recommend to do day trips with Tourist Nature. It is a smaller company and a good way to avoid big groups of tourists. World of Greenland is a big company so they use bigger and more modern boats/vans for cruising trips or transfers. You can find their emails on their websites. Both companies will reply you quickly. For accommodation, I stayed at Ice Fjord apartment (part of Ice Fjord Hotel) and booked via Booking com. It is a collection of studio apartments located in town centre where you can walk less than 3mins to Tourists Nature and World of Greenland offices, shops and supermarkets. Very basic studio apartment, clean, powerful heating system and they offer free airport pick up/drop off. Although, there is no telephone line at the apartment or room service but mobile phone works and don't bother with room service, go hiking, see amazing ice fjord, enjoy the nature and live like locals. I find this town is very peaceful and is a real get away from busy city lifestyle.
Hello I was wondering if there is a specific helicopter service to contact to set up a tour of the icefjord?

In both Ilulissat and Maniitsoq I asked at the docks and hotels for boat owners willing to be a guide for the day, and they obliged. They brought their families and it was a wonderful experience. I also rented a speedboat for a day trip from Ilulissat to Disko Island (Qeqertarsuaq), and I shared that with fellow travels from the Hotel Arctic. I did not take a helicopter but I did a lot of hiking to glaciers. Also, I took a regular ferry one day from Ilulissat to Qasianguitt, which was also great for a full day of hiking.
